Hello,

I just received 2 $20 Canoe coins today from ebay. I put them under the scope and I noticed on the one there are squiggly lines throughout the reverse. The other coin, the edge/rim is shaved looking.

Are these normal traits for coins like this?

I will post pics shortly.

Thank you

Here are the pictures. They are the best I was able to capture. Also the last few show something odd happening with the queens hair.

Suggestions?

ive got a few of these, none of mine look like that. Those looks fairly significant, I would try and get it exchanged.

$20 coin that the mint sold for $20.What kind of quality were you expecting? You can exchange it for $20 in merchandise at Mint outlets.
Try posting this in the Canadian NCLT section of this forum where it belongs, maybe some of the regulars there can offer some insight.

You're looking at a mass produced coin under a microscope. Of course you will see some imperfections. And as DBM mentioned, you traded a $20 bill for a $20 silver coin, and they even shipped it to you for free.

What are you expecting? A "perfect 70"? If it really bugs you to see such imperfections, sure go ahead and return it, spend it, or be one of "those guys" on ebay who shows the microscope images and claims it's some crazy error and lists it for 5x the issue price.
