Hello friends,

I have purchased uncleaned lots from a dozen different sellers over the past year or so and none compare to this one. No gold, no silver, no pristine uncirculated beauties, and I am sure no great rarities. However, I was very pleased to pay $18 for a 10 coin lot. I just received them in the mail and was pleasantly surprised to see that the seller sent me 13 coins. A fantastic variety of emperors, types, busts, sizes, etc. All look to be attributable and at $1.40 per coin, clearly the best uncleaned lot I have purchased to date.

I am very short on time, but am looking forward to studying, cleaning, and attributing these coins.

Regards,

-Kurt

That's a really nice lot of uncleaned coins. Have fun cleaning them and the attribution experience as well.

If you don't mind letting me know the dealer, I'd appreciate it.

Gil,

I saw someone elses lot on here from this same seller but can't find the thread. Not sure of the rules on posting seller's names but if you search "CAC uncleaned" on ebay you should see his listings.

German seller and coins arrived in 8 days!

Bianca, hes who I get mine from! Lovely guy, gives extra coins and no junks.

Seriously, if you have had issues in the past with getting culls, buy from this guy.

That is a very nice lot of uncleaned coins. There are a few that look like they have a desert patina.

Im going to piggy back on this post as you may have to use similar tactics to ID yours...

I have a coin which has the surviving obverse of VIC AVG. any clues as to what that could mean? Its not struck well, so it is possible to sub in letters. Definitely IC at the end.

Thanks

JWharper, you are truly an encyclopaedia. However, this is a 4th century bust and only the legend to the right of the bust is visible as VIC AVG. Reverse is 2 soldiers with a standard.

Oh, and the OP's Forward facing will clean upreally well!

(I say this as I've just had another go at mine, thinking it was clean, but its got a surface layer of crud, so now I'm getting to lovely shiny patina! Yours looks just like my patina did before cleaning up)

Ben post a picture. I know of several coins where VIC AVG is inscribed on a shield. I would like to see the coin in question.

Thanks all.

Ben, I thought you were the one who recommended this seller but couldn't find the thread for some reason. Anyways, piggy back away, no worries, and cheers for the inside scoop on this seller!

-Kurt

PS. I will definitely post each coin as I have time to clean them up, etc. I always find it enjoyable to see the progression of other collector's cleaning adventures as well.
