This little devil came with a collection I recently purchased. I at first thought it was pencil, but after rubbing some kleenex on it, nothing came off? Not exactly sure what kind of substance is on it. Any of you guys seen something like this before?

Ken

Because it is only on one side of the note, I am assuming that the mark was left from being held in a wallet.
Rest in Peace

Ya I also agree, probably a wallet. I've never had it happen to a bill before but a plastic photo holder that was in my wallet had the same color markings on the back side.

I've had quite a few bills look similar to this where only one half of a bill looks good and the other half looks crap. Fold a bill in half and only dirty one side or get one side wet, etc. etc. Who knows what is on that bill. Its too bad though.
