Hi wert

Yes, that is a high 7. It's nice to see one in a mint set. Do you have the low 7 in a mint set as well? The pair would be nice.

I used to think that the low 7 was a good and rare variety to have, but through my roll hunting, I've found 26 high 7's and 32 low 7's.. Or maybe I'm in luck and a 55% occurrence is the new standard for rare?

interesting darcyrmt...I would have thought low "7's" were harder to find...?

Guess I will have to look a LITTLE harder at my nickels.

Low 7's are only hard to find in grades MS-65 and higher....

True. I checked my 1977 nickels and out of 24 I have 13 low 7 & and the rest high 7. The only "rare" variety (and I use the term with reservation) seems to be the high 7 large beads, of which I only have 2, both in circulated shape.

Nice to know pennysaver...That makes my "high 7" in my mint set a little more desirable...

High 7 Large Beads? Ugh, I can't keep up with all the varieties.. Makes me wish Charlton would list EVERYTHING that's been found, after all, aren't we kind of using their book as a leading guide of what's out there? (well I am lol)
