Hi Folks
Was going through some lose change before I throw it into my coin jar. Noticed the date on a 1972 penny showed some doubling. I am not an error collector. Is this considered md or dd. Thanks for any info. Sorry about the photos best I could manage.Question-Concerning-1972-Penny.-MD-Or-DD

The doubling does not stand out as tall as the other part of the characters. It is 'flattened down' - this is always the case with Machine Doubling, and never the case with a true hub doubled die. Maybe this will help.

Definitely MD, but it's a really cool example of it. Put it in a 2x2, hang on to it, and have it to be able to compare to anything else you might come across.
