Sorry if this is in the wrong section, I wasn't entirely sure where to put it. I have this coin that I got in a lot a couple years ago. All I know is that it is about 6/10 of an ounce and I was told it is .999 silver. It is a JFK commemorative round and I have posted pictures below. Any help regarding more info about this coin would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

It's not a coin. It could have been made anywhere.

It's pretty nice looking.

I hope an expert can give you more information.

thanks for the reply, not sure of the correct terminology. I guess this is just a "round" or bullion? And thanks in advance to anyone with more info.

This one will take a bit of research, but most .999 silver rounds are marked as such. This may be a plated or base metal token.

One of the advantages of having two rare forms of color blindness, one being monochromism in one eye is being able to see some stuff that others don't see, even in photographs. This piece appears to be pewter. I would guess it's softer and heavier than silver.

thanks for the information. I'm not sure it is silver myself, but some google digging yielded some results for "heraldic art"? The good news with that would mean it's at least real silver, the bad news being it's unlikely to have any value past it's raw melt I would imagine. it weights about 6/10 of an ounce.

Try a ' tissue test'. Silver looks distinctly different from other metals under a single sheet of tissue paper.

It is is nice shape and some people collect presidential memorabilia so you never know, it could still be worth a bit more than melt.
