I want to put my Roosevelt dimes and Washington quarters in albums, but I don't know what to get. Should I get albums that also have slots for proofs, or should I store them differently? Is there a particular favorite brand that produces better albums?

to CCF!

Dansco fan here. There are others who like Whitman. But, to keep it fair we'll do a poll. Then you can decide. I'll start one.

Depends on whether you also collect slabed coins. I also like lighthouse and some Amos.

I prefer Dansco with holes for Proof Only issues. You might not collect the "proof only" issues now, but you could change your mind.

I know I've asked people before but with the dansco album and the proofs would it be better to fill the dansco up when you have your collection complete so your not opening and closing the plastic to upgrade your coins

Yes, it would be easier to do them all at one time. It is not impossible to do them individually, but that method does require extra patience.

IMHO Dansco and Intercept Shield are the best Albums. They both look great and both can be stored inside a slip cover.

I'm a Whitman person. I think most Silver coins look much better in a Blue background than that sort of Brownish look of Dansco. Many people like Dansco since they sort of look expensive and sort of look like a leather bound book.
If you look into it, you would find many manufacturers of Albums. Check out the Whitman web site and you would find they also make United States Mint Albums and Harris too. But then there is also Littleton and many others. People on this forum are basically Dansco people but you don't have to use those just because people on this forum do. Decide for yourself which Album you like best.

Do you collect the proofs? If so...show 'em! Some folks (like myself) don't care for the proof issues. I am not saying that I don't appreciate their reflective surfaces, and I have a few examples in my 7070 collection (1976-S Silver Proof Quarter, Half and Dollar). That is what is great about collecting coins; there is no right or wrong way to do it!

Although I recently read a thread about putting MS Red Cents in albums...not a good idea...

DANSCO does make several versions of albums with or without proofs. Not sure about Whitman albums.
