Good evening from Spain for who ever reads this:

I came across today with one of my father's Medals, for wich I can't find an estimated price on the net.

I did find that one of its "sisters" is part of the British Museum Collection, for wich I'm going to add a link in order to someone -hopefully- bring me some light so I could estimate a selling price.

The condition of mine is exact as the one in the picture. Perfect.

Information about the medal @ British Museum: HERE
MORE Information @ Victoria & Albert Museum: HERE

Thank you.

This is a medal of Albrecht Durer by Matthes Gebel. The original was made early in the 16th Century. If yours is made of brass
(laton) then there is a chance it may be original. Please post a photo of yours so we can help.

Thank you alganbagerap!

These are scanned pictures:

The coin was found "well hidden" inside a nightable bought in Germany at a flea market.

With some Prussian german coins worth $600. But I also found a 1772 8 reales coin wich weights 27gr but it looks "to good to be real". And not really "oldschool"

OK, I've found the Revue Belge de la Numismatique for 1881 and it appears, as usual, that there were many versions of this medal. The one in the Victoria & Albert museum (1st photo) is listed as brass and is probably a later copy.
Your medal (2nd photo) was originally produced in silver, but I haven't been able to find an accurate size and weight yet.

Thanks a lot for your help!

I'm also "googling" but can't find anything apart of the de British Museum and the Victoria&Albert websites :/

Tried to mail the VA Museum, but got no reply (even if I was a member while I was living in London... huh!)

Hope we can find out if this is worth something at all, or just fake.

Hello, and thanks once again for your help. Appreciate it :-)

Weight: 30.97 gr

Thickness: The sorrounding is not really "regular".

¿3mm? for the thickest part - ¿1.1mm? for the thinest part of the outline.

[The MM might not be exact, I measured with a basic school ruler, I don't know if that alrite for you]

And as for the same reason I can't provide the size - I don't own a caliper, never measured coins.

I'm going to buy one on ebay if you really need it - Or is there any "DIY" way to measure? I've read on the forum that you may use Photoshop, but I'm using a Pentium II (Yes, I know... my laptop is broken and they ask 400€ to repair it...)

Thank you,
Thanks a lot
