@ traevin: 2004 (Winter) goes for very slightly more. Canadian dealers are selling them for about $90 CAD before shipping. I would consider anything less than $80 with shipping to be a good catch. The milk spots are the bane of SMLs. Apparently the RCM found a solution to the problem and they will no longer appear on coins later than the Moose wildlife SML. But who knows. |

@poboxw: too bad RCM didn't figure that out a bit earlier, there was a tiny milk spot on my wolf coin and I tried to clean it... and scratched it of course.  Another lesson learnt. |

I hope the RCM has found away to prevent those milkspots. I also made the mistake of trying different ways to remove the unsightly spots. Unfortunately leaving myself with disappointment and ruined maples.  |

Interesting to read old topics and compare with today's reality.
So recently I've completed this series (2001 - 2007), trying to get "spotless" coins.
This Maple Leaf I managed to get for $99 shipped, and both 2006 and 2007 for $180 each one. I know, that this is very high price for colored SML, but searched for 2 month and this price was the best.
Anyway, I believe that the deal was good for us both - the seller and for me.
And you, traevin, got a nice coin for really good price.

these color maple are getting expensive! I remember the most expensive one I bought is 2006, cost me $60, the 2001 and 2002 were just at bullion price at that time  |

SilverBug, traevin and other people who collect colored maples: Do you think that the "Raindrop" series (from 2008)is logical continue of the Colorized (2001 - 2007) and they all naturally looks together? My concern is the crystal - I do not like much it's presence in the coin, that makes coin looks like jewelry. Another thing - the price. Doing a quick search on ebay, I've seen that minimum it will be $150 shipped for every coin, except 2012 that I saw today at PO. |

Addition of glass plus different finish and denomination = different series. They do look good together though.

 When the RCM changed the denomination and added the crystal it signaled the end of the previous series for me. I stopped with the 2007 issue. Collecting history one coin or medal at a time! (c) commems. All rights reserved.

Silveroid: no, Raindrops are totally different things, the color maples are special edition of bullion maples, they all have "9999" and "Fine Silver 1OZ" mark just like bullion maples, and also $5

Yes, I missed the fact of different finish and denominations.
This makes colorized series 2001-2007 more special, although they special variety of bullion SML.
I think, I will buy the 2012 as independent example of proof and colored maple - it looks very attractive with autumn color, but will pass collecting all Raindrop series.

For me coloured maples, raindrop maples and dew (lily/wildrose/rhododendron) are different series but same group...
