Anyone-Familiar-With-This-Type-Of-Slab

This is the first time a saw this type of slab. Plus I'm not familiar with the grading party. Seller says its an old slab. Any comments on this TPG. Trying to familiarize myself with as many of the TPG's as I can. I know a lot of you guys have been around since slabs were invented, so lets have some of that knowledge.

Thanks in advance

Apparently they were around back in the 80s, couldnt comment on how good they are.

For slabs now I would stick to PCGS or NGC theyre the two biggest by far. Anacs and ICG are good too but dont really carry much of a premium. PCGS has the highest premium followed by NGC. I like the PCGS slabs better than the white NGC so I stick to them but get whatever you like.

Other than those 4 companies unless youre dealing with canadian coins or something like that that has their own big reputable grading service I would stay away from them.

Some of these old slabs are neat and a piece of history. But like the poster above mentioned, stick with PCGS, NGC, or Anacs. Some like ICG as well but I like the other three.

After a quick google search, I found that they were in business for about two years in the 1980's out of Philadephia, PA.

INGS was located in Philadelphia, PA (Not to be confused with INS which was also located in Philadelphia around that time.) They began operation in 1987. The owner used these photoslabs licensing them from ACG. I do not know when they stopped operation but according to Alan Hagar of ACG they were still active in April 2001 and at that time they were the only firm licensed to use the ACG type shells. That probably didn't last much longer because at that time it was discovered that he was apparently using ACG shells for another service which was NOT licensed.

INGS only used one variety of slab.

The things we learn on this Forum. Everytime I think I saw them all (slabs) something different pops up. Thanks again guys for sharing your knowledge with the Forum.
