Just going to be getting into metal detecting as soon as my metal detector arrives, but wondering if there are any groups that you can get involved with that go on hunts, etc. I live in the Denver, CO area. Thanks, just wondering what the best way to start. My 14 year old son wants to get into as well.

Thanks,

I just started in my own yards then asked the neighbors then the local park. for practice and to learn the different sounds for different metals and depths, also make sure not to butcher someones yard with whatever you use to dig I used a small gardening shovel. I may have killed a few spots but I learned to remove my find without making a large hole and being precise on my dig site. Sorry I live in Idaho but I will be in Denver on Christmas. I'm going to the Avalanche Sabres game on the 24th. GO SABRES!

I knew what you meant. I am a big hockey fan as well. Used to go to the Colorado Rockie Hockey games when we first moved here in 1979. thanks for input.
