A few months ago I started my 7070 album. I think most people here would agree that it's a lot of fun to do this collection. My first attempt at this album is doing it as cheaply as possible because I personally like the looks of old circulated coins. After reading about how collector's are always upgrading there albums I decided why not have 2 albums. After I finish the first and start to upgrade I will just move the lower grade coins into the second album. What I was wondering though has anyone else done this.

My actual 7070 Dansco Album are my "decoys". All of them are fakes; 1856 Flying Eagle, 1913 Liberty nickel, 1894-S Barber dime, 1916 Standing Liberty, 1893-S Morgan, etc... I feel that if they are going to be fake, be really fake!

I keep my real 7070 collection in slabs.

The idea of having a first and a second collection is not new. I did one for the Winged Liberty Dimes.
At worst, you can teach others that the difference in grade/eye appeal mean something and have the examples at hand.
Also, this will teach you a lot in the process.
Of course, do it!

I think jbuck has 2 Dansco7070 albums with at least one of them being complete, not sure how he went about doing them but if I am not mistaken he does have two of the albums

OK so every once in a while you have to laugh at yourself and let others laugh also, keeps life in perspective. So you can see from my amount of posts that I have not been in the forums long at all. I also only recently went to my first coin show. HOWEVER, I have been collecting coins at my own pace and based on what I like for many years. Now that I have come to the forums, I have learned so much so quickly.
Why am I posting this in this forum you ask? Well here I go.
I had no idea what a 7070 type set was up until several weeks ago. People kept posting pics in here and I thought it was an awesome idea and wanted to do one. So I went to laying the coins out on my kitchen island counter in the proper order. I would refer to all of your pictures for help. About two thirds of the way through, I started getting frustrated that I had to have two of each like in your pics, one to see the front and one to see the back. That's what you have all posted and, I had never seen a Dansco and didn't know that they were designed to go between the plastic. My only use of books was the Whitmans. So now that I realize just how rediculous I was, I can look back and laugh and be happy that I have two sets that are about 75% complete. I have to admit it was funny.

I like the idea of two sets because heavily worn coins can not only be handled without too much risk but come with a sense of history due to their wear and thinking about what they have seen.
