I couldn't make it to the ANA show today , but here's a 2 pictures I took from the APMEX table, and its also the first time I ever see a 10 kilos Silver Dragon. I asked the representative for the pound weight and he said around 25 pounds, and another man ask the value. "Its about $16,800 because of its numismatic value today." There was also a gold brick bar that weight allot, I barely lifted with one hand, but didn't take a picture of it "Its value as of today is $466,000 plus. I am unable to go tomorrow either...

I would like to have that dinner plate 10 kilo bar not only for the value, but it would make a fine serving dish for sushi....

I have more than a few of those, Mac. I went Dragon crazy earlier this year and it took months to get it out of my system. If I'm lucky, they'll at least hold their value; but I'm not holding my breath.

The premium for some of these are high, and they made too many style of dragon coins, hope that is not like those Franklin Mint collectibles were most of it just fads.

Although I have to say about the Franklin Mint, if you got the money for buying good displays, then go for it...

Yes, 10 kilos IS a BIG round for sure. My math says 22 lbs... given 10,000 grams and 454 grams per Av. lb. That is HUGE! Would like to see one of those babies up close and personal. Thanks for posting the pics. They are the next best thing to being there.

I'd be afraid of that thing slipping out of my hands and hitting the floor.
Think about it, even if it fell 1 1/2 feet it would shatter the capsule and destroy the "numismatic value" with a nasty dent.

Quote: another man asked the value. "It's about $16,800 because of its numismatic value today." Somehow, I have trouble believing this. I have trouble with the figure quoted and also the statement that it has some sort of special numismatic value. I understand that the 1-ounce lunar dragon carry a premium because of how collectible they are, but this dinner plate? Earlier in the year I bought the one kilo version of this. At the time, silver was above $30/ounce and I paid a slight premium per ounce, but nowhere near the premium that was being charged for the one-ounce versions. In fact, I think the one ounce versions were selling for nearly double spot and the one-kilo version was maybe $2-3 above spot per ounce. The dinner plate version has something like $9000 of silver in it. If it has a collector's value of nearly double that, I'd expect my one kilo version to be worth something around $1600 right now. But I don't think it is. Seriously, I think the guy is taking the premium for the one-ounce versions and just assuming that the larger versions would have the same percentage premium, and I just don't think that's the case.

I just checked, and APMEX has these for $13,040. Still overpriced in my opinion, but a far cry from $16,000.

You maybe right barryg, there were many viewers so the rep may not have check the proper price, and if there's no taker, somehow even APMEX have to move inventory.

Forget the "plate" or "coaster" I want this baby....I could make a TABLE out of it! Nothing quite like a one tonne slab of gold sitting in your living room to make a statement!
