Thanks again for the time you fine folks took with me at your table in Philly. Dave it was a great pleasure to meet you in person as well as Yankee Ben and Mom and Dad ...and so on. I hope you had and have a great show.

Yeah, I saw the thread over there. Wish I could have gotten that one under my lens. I believe you're right about the ST. Is there anything obvious allowing you to attribute it otherwise?

I picked it mid day Friday. The tail has no scribbles, and it is not 1 I can ID. I cant find any 1921 P with an ST Clash so I may send it to Leroy. I would like to know what VAM it is first

So you think that it may be a discovery piece? That'd be really neat!

More likely a known VAM with no previous known clash - it'd be a subvariety (1A, 1B, etc.). Yes, a Discovery but not an entirely new VAM number. Russ, you got enough optics to put some decent magnification on it? 21's are no fun to attribute, as you know.

That's still really neat.
If it is a new subvariety, would it bring a better number than to say it's counterpart?

I can't find a match with any of the 21s listed with clash. Send it, Russ.

Quote: If it is a new subvariety, would it bring a better number than to say it's counterpart? Not necessarily. Understanding that very, very few of the 4000+ known VAMs bring an actual premium at retail - Morgans are just too plentiful - it's more about adding to the base of knowledge and maybe puffing up a bit about having another discovery. Quote: I can't find a match with any of the 21s listed with clash. Send it, Russ. Absolutely, but if it's possible at the same time to present conclusive evidence of it being an existing VAM, Leroy will be saved much effort.

I have a bit of time so I will post some photos of it as well as a few others that could go in. One of them already got shot down but JR looked at it at the show and just rolled his eyes, then told me to re-send it. That one is on an 1889 O and has a good size break right where one would look for the wreath clash of the Vam-1a and V-20a
