I'm not sure what gold mining deposits have got to do with coin collecting.

but the gold price has actually been trending down in the past 12 months.

If you missed the big price hike in 2011 its probably not a good time to invest in gold.

A lot of the price action in that chart has to do with the strength of the AUD. In USD it looks a little bit better. Of course who wants USD around here?
