She knows literally nothing about it, or investing in general.

She's going to buy 8 oz a month, I do 22 oz a month. I'm glad she's at least open to it.

Trying to hit a 1,000 oz goal with in 24 months.

Great goal, and smart girl. Good luck! You'll be in rare company if you can hit 1K. Most of us are still pursuing it.

I see that you are dollar cost averaging at a rate that suits you, into a silver position.

I would suggest that you also dollar cost average your way out of your silver position when you decide to sell.

I note that you are aiming for one killer ounce.
That's better than me!
I have struggled all the way to 0.3 killer gram.

I have set a goal, and we are going to attain it.

I have a base of 255 ounces right now.

From now on its monthly purchases 22 oz from me, 8 from her= 30.

30x 24 months = 720

720+255(current)=975.

I figure between tax returns and picking up an extra ounce or two here and there, 1,000 will be attained in 24 months. Barring nobody loses there job.

Great goal to have and stay focused. The silver market is very volatile and moves daily. Watch the charts and stack accordingly. Keep an eye on Gold movement as well.

Best of luck to both of you on your shared goal.

That's great that you have gotten her on board, that is an ongoing battle for some... dare I say most.

Having both parties on same page goes a long way as my girlfriend is too thick headed and stubborn like an old pack mule....

Nothing beats cash in the bank in her mind, but then she is too young to appreciate putting ones money into bigger and better things just yet....

We are due on Halloween so I have to side with her a bit on this for the first couple of years esp with the cost of babies and childcare....

Little Alexander the great or former conqueror of most of the known world by the age of 25 we are gonna call him, lol...

Congratulations hotshotschamp! Make sure she is aware there will be ups and downs in the price but over time she will be happy she bought. Also tell her to keep records of purchases and do a cost average over time so that she knows what her actual cost per ounce is.

I'll try to explain the problem, but in layman's terms, you have to buy them a little something while you are regularly stacking your silver or everything eventually breaks down and grinds to a halt and no one's happy with the communal arrangement.

Scientifically speaking, finding that special Goldilocks zone is the real issue, and many good collectors have been ruined while searching for the perfect equation that seemingly pleases each and every "better half", AKA, the General Theory of Everything (related to PMs and Soul-mates).

Personally, the empirical date is pretty clear that this line of research is simply a pipe dream. There are simply so many variables involved that I've been told the successors to Big Blue would rather be thrown off the deep end than waste valuable processing time looking for this nonexistential ignis fatuus.

Put simply, it will take a great deal of experimentation on the part of the stacker before both parties are equally satisfied. But if you find the AG to gifts ratio becomes too skewed towards the hush money vs. the hard money, then the math is pretty clear in at least this one aspect:

It's time to find another life partner with less maintenance and a greater love of silver.

My wife is cool with me buying silver. I've taught her a lot about it. She knows I can sell it on short notice if we need cash. However, she was kind of irritated I spent $100 on an LWC!

CPC24, you didn't spend $100 on an LWC, you "invested" $100 in order to get a better return later. Works for me every time.

I do have to say,my wife is fine with my investing in PM's,of course the fact that I bought 11 ounces of gold when it was $600/oz. has made my judgement appear to be better than it probably really is. She does trust me to do the right thing and that goes a long way toward keeping me "rational" in my investments!

Interesting topic and congrats to HSC for having an excellent stacking plan as well as getting his GF to go along with his plan. This is not always an easy task.

My wife is a very understand woman but... she has her limits! She continues to see fiat as real money and silver as the stuff that her husband buys from time to time. She does not mind that I buy silver because it does not cost her a thing when I do. We have a your money, my money, and our money arrangement so all of my purchases come from "my money" and not hers or ours. Anyway, we had a 30 minute talk the other day about prepping for various kinds of disasters. She is on-board with the idea of gardening and having a good supply of food, water, and disaster supplies available in case disaster strikes. What I absolutely cannot do is convince her that she needs to put some of her money into gold and silver. They are just not real money to her, even though we have discussed inflation and what it does to fiat currency but not to gold or silver. I guess that she is just one of those people who will have to discover after disaster hits that dollars are worthless pieces of paper and not real money after all. Of course, that probably will not stop her from wanting to "share" the PMs that I have!
