Looking at the 2 images I would have to assume that there has been a bit image of doctoring going on, I have no idea how this is done but I do know it is possible. All the flaws have been removed, from the deep scratch in the Emu's flank to the dings on the edge of the shield on the coat of arms. If you think I am being harsh or impolite in saying this then I apologize if you feel offended. There is absolutly no reason to spiff up an image to get a better grade from the forum members. I have found the best way to get an honest and accurate grade from my peers here on CCF is to take a high res scan ( this shows every single tiny flaw in the coin) and a photo, then describe whatever I can about the coin in question. After all when I post a coin to be graded I want to get an assessment of what the coin grades at warts and all , Not what I want or hope it will grade at To be blunt and undiplomatic these 2 images look like 2 different coins entirely

I think every honest opinion is valuable and I can say that none of the dings or bumps have been removed but as the photos were taken under different lighting different details are highlighted in each photo and I can tell you after taking thousands of photos of coins it takes more than 1 photo to see all of the detail on any particular coin

Stevo, the more pics from all different angles lets you see every aspect of a coin, you only have to change the angle by 1/2 a millimetre to change how the coin looks, some angles hide marks & others show them up. The area between the star & F in FLORIN never really changes in your pics though,& on the Obverse there is a couple of little marks below V1 that will always show. ebay listings with one photo of only one side of the coin are a pet hate of mine,it should be compulsory in ebay listings to have a minium of 2 photo's of each side of the coin. Rant over, Sorry.

I thought it looked OK but unfortunately it has had a wipe with I reckon one of those microfibre cloths or something similar, turns out it is rubbish IMO.

Looks like it has a bit of lustre, its hard to tell if the scratches are on the coin or the holder

The coin from my original post has finally arrived back from PCGS and as it turns out we were all way off with regard to the grade so I was pleasantly surprised https://www.pcgs.com/Cert/29308186.html

I would have to agree with trout1105. A TPG when examining the coin, does so with a 10x loupe and rotates the coin to also assess for lustre, with light coming from a single point light source, as in a jewelry display. Irrespective of if the coin has an enhanced image or not, the TPG is obliged to look for anything that detracts, in order to give an honest grade.
