Is anyone remotely interested in buying pre 1982 pennies for their copper content?

And if so: Would you rather buy them in rolls, or loose?

And how much over face value would you buy for?

Thanks for the help!

The price I would pay for them wouldn't be worth the shipping costs :(

Agreed....unless you got down th the. 30s and older, but then in that case, yer looking at numi value. Saw an ad on CL where a guy was trying to sell 800 pennies for 800 bucks, nothing o f real value, just copper. The guys off his rocker.

IIRC its currently illegal to melt those cents for copper content. I guess even if you could, you would have to 100's or 1000's to get even on the cost.

yeah, but most people on ebay pay from 1.5-1.8x facevalue, search in hoard copper in the search bar and there are a whole bunch of posts about this.

When I have sold them on ebay I found the best way to list them was to sell them in lots of $50 face aand shipping them via a medium flat rate box. If you sell them at $79.99 plus shipping you'll be making around $18 after the ebay and paypal fees.
