im on ebay and I really want to buy a Walking Liberty half dollar and prices range from 20 dollars to nearly a thousand dollars. I understand theres special dates and graded coins and ones merely for silver value.

if were allowed to post links I was looking at this one specifically

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1943-Walkin...em1e7144f3e9

thanks for the help

That doesn't seem unreasonable. They do have like a 10 and change silver value right now and ebay does take fees but over double melt may be a touch high.

In terms of value the completed ebay listings and http://www.numismedia.com/fmv/fmv.shtml are what I use to see what things should be going for.

yeah, aside from the 10 dollar over melt value, its more of a collectors thing just to be able to have one

I probably would have bought it too. It was one of the nicer looking ones in that price range. certainly could have done worse

A well struck MS 65 Walker is truly a piece of numismatic artwork.
I was never able to find an MS65, and had to settle for an MS63.

Prices for common date MS63 Walkers are well defined, and you should know exactly how much to pay for a Walker in this grade.

the MS63 ones arent too far off from the MS65 ones, I have a 1964 Kennedy half that id like to get graded along with my 1966 Kennedy half.

the walking liberty I just bought wasnt graded but the description said AU/BU, I'm not looking for anything too fancy, just something to have for the sake of saying I own a nice piece that you can see details in it

Lol I often have the same problem with late night ebay surfing. I've ended up starting whole new series from finding something I really liked that way.

Price is a bit high for that one but for ebay, not bad. Unfortunately few add in the Postage and Handling on what they paid for anything. Nice looking coin.
