Please grade this coin. The one thing that detracts from the coin is the inward nick at the one o'clock position on the sol side. The fields are not very busy but there are tiny tiny specks that can be seen. Grade? Value?

I'm going to say VF+, because there seems to be a bit of wear on the sol side. The eagle looks to be in very good shape, (perhaps a little mushiness in the snake). As for value, it's hard for me to gauge, because I'm not in touch with the American market any more. You would certainly do better in the American market than the Mexican.

If you ever make it down my direction, and actually make it to *THE* lake.. (Technically, we have two major lakes, but mine is a lot more beautiful). let me know... I've got some decent sources.

I'd guess EF40, maybe a 45 if you're lucky. I think there is an Mexico 1912 5c NGC 45 on ebay.

By "your" way, JMerrick, do you mean Mexico or Guatemala? Last story I heard from Guatemala was of a street dealer who sold a man's brother a fake coin and a knife for $30. I got a source in Mexico. Sweet old couple in Coyoacan. They seem sketchy at first glance but the woman is very honest, you can't really argue or you look like the bad guy.
