Looks solid VF for wear, maybe even close to EF. Some of the weak detail is probably due to strike, not wear. The hair over the ear in particular has the look of a weakly-struck coin.

Is the coin in a holder? The various fine scratches look like they might be on a plastic window rather than on the coin. Color is a bit unusual which could be from the photo or could be a result of some kind of cleaning or "altered surface" issue.

I don't see any obvious signs it could be a fake but you have to be alert to the possibility. I would advise any collector to have this key date authenticated to ensure you are not being taken in by a well-made counterfeit.

EF-40 details, possibly cleaned. Recommend you get this one slabbed to confirm authenticity. Very valuable in any grade
Rest in Peace

Not knowing how true to actual appearance these "shots" are. I'm thinking maybe a scan? Anyways, it appears to be weakly struck with very little wear therefore I think maybe AU50/AU53.

I am curious if there is a lump of metal above the 9 or not because it's probably not a good sign if there is one. Maybe some pictures showing the luster and the true color would help in authentication and grading. If it is genuine, the coin could grade a high VF to EF.

I'm agreeing with a couple of other folks - strike looks weak. AU50?
