Do you think this coin is worth the money? Should I buy it? Its still in my collecting sphere...I just want other opinions on this before I purchase.
I got this thing for Phoenicians. The coin is also from a point in Roman History when the Empire was at its height. Approx AD 117. Trajan / Hadrian Eras. Here its is. I have done business with this seller before with no problems. Please advise on the coin.

I have done business with this seller in the past w/o any proiblems. That's an interesting looking coin, but I think overpriced considering the details, especially on the reverse, are not sharp. That could just be a result of the image though.

Is it Trajan you're after, or this particular type of coin? I have seen some very nice Trajans selling for less, but maybe not what you're looking for, eh? There are a few of this type listed on acsearch.info which seem to be around the same price and with sharper conditions. Take a look: http://www.acsearch.info/record.html?id=492527

Anyway, nice coin. Keep us informed of your decision. You might want to make an offer? Maybe.

Well I do like Trajan, I have a few of his Denari, I really wanted a nice Silver Melkart. Please advise if there is a better selection. I thought the coin was a bit pricey. I too thought the details were rather flat, there is a nicer example for $170 I tried to make a deal with the other guy but he is firm on a nicer toned one in a slab. Please if any one has a better choice for a nice silver Melkart bust, please advise.
JW- Your the man. I can always count on you to respond to my posts :-). I am still up in the air on this Item. I don't need it but like I said I would like a nice Melkart bust. I only own one, it is a half shekel minted in Judea c. 27AD. I have looked for the full shekel but in general they want those "FULL SHEKEL" prices. Approx. $400. Well above my ceiling. I would like stay around $150 Pecans.

It's a nice looking coin, but I agree a bit overpriced based on it's overall appearance. I think from $90-$100 would be what it's worth.

I see a few scratches on the reverse that make me agree with the $100 number but it is a nice big chunky piece of silver and a type worth owning. I have one with more wear and better surfaces that cost me $45 in 1990 which suggests to me that the price is only a little high today.

BTW, Morris is a gentleman from whom I have bought many coins at shows and whom I respect in every way. We do often disagree on price on some items but but as often as he is high he has bargains so it all works out. He was cheaper ten years ago but weren't they all?

I logged onto the computer, thought about what everyone wrote and decided not to get this piece. I then smelled it, I scrolled farther down the page, then I saw it. A thousand dollar coin, beaten by the thousands of years of the past in to an somewhat affordable coin. I couldn't pass it up. I message the seller, and he agreed to sell it to me.I took a big hit but I had to have it. Seeing as though a while back I bought the matching drachm latenight when noone was looking. Here its is....

ebay Item... 160870322229 .....Cant wait to get it.
