I have this Morgan and its my only one in my US collection. I am making a list of my collection and I thought I would right the grade of each coin beside it. I am not good in grading so I would appreciate that you experts grade it for me Thanks

I would call it AU-58, there is minor wear above the ear. BEAUTIFUL coin!! Alex

Weak strike, couple of scuffs, much more luster than a typical AU coin.
I doubt this ever saw circulation. I would put it at MS-63

MS62/ MS63 looks about right to me. Appears to be a weak struck coin (typical New Orleans) that went directly into a bag and never circulated.

So we do have a higher grade MS-63 . Now I am confused AU-58 OR MS-63?

I am leaning a bit towards circulated rather than uncirculated. There is a bit of scuffing on the face especially by the cheekbone and in the fields in front of the face but I don't think that alone would keep it out of MS. To me, it is the scuffing in conjunction with what appears to be some short hairlines in the same area that is suggesting this coin has received some light friction. From what I have seen, light friction is usually enough to keep a morgan out of a MS grade because they are so common in MS. The reverse appears to be MS which is sometimes seen on high AU's. My guess would be AU-58 but I could change my mind if I saw it in hand. A true slider which is probably why you are seeing some call it AU and others call it MS. Nice coin BTW!
