A gentleman on another forum suggested this might be an original WW2 era Nazi iron Cross of the Knights order in which only 7300 were awarded. Its weight is 41.61g and has a diameter of 48.43mm x 47.70mm. The gentleman suggested that the replica was 45mmx45mm and the real McCoy was 49mmx49mm but admitted he did not have the expertise to say weather its real or not. He did provided me this link. I would love to hear any comment anyone might have. Is it a replica is it real? What is its value? I am sure if it is real its worth significantly less without the ribbon and for sure without the guy to which it belonged. This was bought at a flea market in the State of DE a couple years ago for $1. Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks guys. http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de...en/ekrk.html
A two minute google search revealed a very lengthy Wikipedia article on this award. Further, after looking at the replicas I see 800 stamped on the top cross.
