who seems to feel entitled to help and gets an angry tone if what they were asking isn't specifically addressed every time

in one of my earlier posts I had put up a coin, I think STNDLIBQ, and no one had commented for a day so I posed a "I guess I'll never post one of these again" and that slightly put someone's nose out of joint. I was being light hear-ted about the scenario but I can also see how it would ruffles someone who read that

...patience certainly is a virtue....

basebal21,
You are SO right! The CCF forum is light years ahead of any other forum for politeness and civility. Plus, the efforts of the moderators and everyone else to maintain the "kid friendliness" of the forum deserves a medal!
And I find that a number of younger collectors here DO say please and thank you.
Unlike a few so-called adults who do not.
And yes, a general tone of respect speaks volumes as well.

matt it really was shocking (in a good way) to see the difference of this board and many others.

Please forgive those you have become grumpy in their old age lol just kidding.

But definitely agree the mods do a great job of weeding out the bad apples pretty fast and looking out for other members

I think this is a non-issue, to be honest; seems like all the CCF posts I look at have the requisite etiquette, as would be expected with the type of folks in this hobby. Some other forums get a bad rap, too; I belong to several other types of forums, and they are mostly helpful and polite, except a movie review group I belong to, they're really rude!

Moi, grumpy?
Oh I hope not!
Playing in this wonderful sandbox keeps me young at heart.
I may be opinionated, but so is everyone else.
What bad apples? They disappear faster than they appear.
Thanks to everyone's effort to report possible problems and the moderators who respond quickly, bad apples get squashed.

I personally think that if you are asking a question and someone answer a thank you is in order. I was raised to be polite in all spheres of life, not always easy but still.

Nothing wrong with saying thank you when a fellow collector takes the time
to share what he has learned.
