Unable to identify this token and wanted to see if anyone has seen one before. Griffin holding a ringed number six with an additional 6 on the reverse assuming metal and not coin turn. Just want to know more about what I have here.

I had a feeling just looking at the title that it would be this particular token. Don't get your hopes up, it's just that this one has bothered me in the past.
Something in my memory says Belgium, but I can't tell you why.

First impression is that its a store check but who would make individual dies unless these tokens were produced on a large scale. Shows only minor wear and you can see the die break but other than that I have nothing to go on. I'm hopeful and am constantly amazed what does get identified here.

It's a lion with multiple tails, not a griffin - griffins have wings.

There's another token exactly like this one in this thread. Unfortunately, we didn't know exactly what it was back then, either.

Thanks for your reply as I stand corrected of it being a lion. After reading that thread I'm not holding out much hope for identification.
