My second pair.... Gryphon / Griffin. Coin # 1 Silver drachm Obv:-- Griffin springing left. Rev:-- GR-W-TH-S, laureate head of Apollo left in linear square, within incuse square Minted in Abdera, 365 - 345 B.C. Reference:-- May 324 Coin # 2 L Papius Denarius Serratus Obv:-- Head of Juno Sospita right, wearing goat skin tied under chin. Behind head, hunter's net Rev:-- Gryphon running right; in ex., L. PAPI.; in field, two spears Minted in Rome from . B.C. 79. Reference(s) -- RSC Papia 1. RRC 384/1. RCTV 311. Symbol variety -- RRC 19. Babelon 100. BMCRR 19. This pair break the budget by 10-20% each based on what I paid so they should be ruled out based on budget but I couldn't resist. I got the Papia for a bargain price and the Abdera was at >50% discount after obtaining discount vouchers for some work I did for a dealer otherwise this coin breaks the budget all on it's own. Hard to believe all these pairs are under the required $200 for the pair rule.

Huh? ... I thought that there was merely a couple of extra bonus points if your pair was less than $200 ? ... Man, I usually pay $200 for shipping alone!! => yah, my coins are way over that limit ... that's a huge under-statement (weak rule) ... I'm out!!

My second pair aren't and I have noted this in their listing They cannot be considered eligible in voting doe to their price but I couldn't resist adding them to the thread as I thought the topic such fun.
My first pair come in at just over $80 for the pair (one just over $40 and the other just under $40, bought in the past month).
I am happy to delete my second pairing if desired (if I can figure out how to do so...).

Hmmm... I'm out too for the second pair. Also thought that there was no limit but bonuses for lesser valued coins... Darn

I remind submitters of this: Stipulation: Each pair must be reasonably obtainable at $200 or less (averaging no more than $100 per coin). The new scoring for this round has a bonus for less-expensive coins.
