Am I missing something? This 1973-S silver Eisenhower dollar (PCGS PR69 DCAM) sold for $106.52. Is there something in the label that makes it special? I can't figure this one out.

It's either a case of grade population or the buyer got carried away.

Only guess I have is maybe because silver did well this week some uninformed people were patrolling ebay and bid it up. But I'm no expert on PCGS labels or Ikes.

I'm gonna guess buyers got carried away. PCGS has graded more in 69 than any other grade.

I'm thinking the buyers got carried away also. I got my PCGS PR69 1973-S silver Ike for only $27.00 because I bought a complete graded set of proof Ikes (11 coins - all are PR69) for $300. The selling price of this one just seemed unusually high to me.

It looks like a nice coin. The L in Liberty looks abraded to me, but the photo is blurry. 25 bids and a price about 25% above what it's been going for lately... who knows, maybe someone was just being impatient.

I gave like $15.00 for my '73 in OGP. The buyer must have wanted that coin really bad!

And I remember when run of the mill 73-S brown Ikes in OGP were going for $150 each. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

Its a 75.00 coin and a NICE one at that. Over value, but not so much so that I would say insane.

If I were to hazard a guess, And that is all it would be.
I think from the "apparent" split serifs on the right hand cross bars
of both "T"'s in TRUST and the "apparent" split serif in the top vertical bar in
the "G" in GOD some bidders may be thinking if
the split serifs show this good in these blurry pictures they
must be phenomenal in hand. making it an unattributed Doubled Die
I have made that mistake in my earlier
days of collecting and purchasing from less than perfect ebay
photos. Only to get it in hand and have it not quite be what I
expected. Such is the learning curve

Now the abrading in the "L" of LIBERTY that Charles pointed out is
actually quite interesting

That must have had the bid run up because that is far from a realistic value.
