I had assumed that everyone that sells shotgun rolls has a cousin that works at a bank, but it seems you can do it for less than $400. Here's the machine:P

You can get into the business a lot cheaper than $400. There is a hand tool that you can twist to crimp the ends. The machine basically uses an electric motor to twist the fitting, with the hand tool you do it by hand. The hand tool version runs around $10 and doesn't get the end as tight.

Yes and then they rub the end of the roll on something to fray the ends to look old, lol.

you do realize the same exact video that you linked to is on the webpage you fist posted correct? So there was no real reason to link to the page and also to the video on youtube because all anyone had to do was scroll down and click the video on that page and it would start playing straight from that page

Heck, you can go down to the bank and buy a sealed box of pennies for 25 bucks. Slap em on ebay and make a killing. I never could figure that one out.

A couple of years ago, for fun, I ran a listing on ebay where I listed a roll of original, full date Buffalo nickels in one of these shotgun rolls. I can't recall the exact text of my title or the description, but it was sort of the antithesis of the "unsearched shotgun rolls" you frequently see on ebay. I think I said something to the effect that I had personally searched the roll and had personally seeded it with some full date mint-marked examples, but the fact that it was in a shotgun roll was cause enough to throw common sense aside and bid like an idiot anyway. I chronicled the listing here on the forum, calling it "My Honest ebay Ad". Hilarity and even some controversy ensued. Here's a link to that old thread: http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/...PIC_ID=44353
