I got these a couple of weeks ago, most are UNC with friction/rub I believe,$8.20 each delivered, don't know why one looks an orange colour as it does'nt look that way in hand.
How do PCGS view friction/rub on coins ? Do they knock them down in grade ?

A lot of these along with the 1951 commemorative florins were hoarded as bullion and just chucked into tubs.
I assume that this is the reason that sooo many have that nasty rubbing on the King/Queens portrait.
These look nice and at the price you got them at it was a bargain.
Can you scan the best 1 or 2 singly
The fields on the reverse look pretty clean
This is one of my better ones and it is a long way from being "Perfect".
These are remarkably hard to get in high end MS condition

Yeah these have a few more marks on them but nothing drastic,i'd doubt they would make MS but they are still nice.

Well yes, what I should have said is I don't think they'd be high MS,probably 62/63 but I don't think they would make 64,maybe a couple would but not really worth the hassle sending them.

It was coins of this design that were so different when released into circulation, and fascinated me as a kid enough to initiate my lifelong curiousity in numismatics.

Friction rub would knock them down a little, but not by a whole grade.

Difficult to find in High MS, due to those large flat field areas of the reverse.

Appleange107: These coins would conform to Uncirculated, because I cannot really see wear in the pictures as presented. Trouble is, people like you and me start looking at them with a high power loupe, and end up discovering all of those tiny little dings! What you have here is a rather nice group of RV Florins, well worth having.
