Is there expected to be a climb in silver this year?

I heard that I think it was that indonesia found silver in a mine and that would bring the prices down

It is worthwhile to ask around.
There will be as many people who will say the price will rise as there are those who say it will fall.

DON'T rely on those who are trying to sell you silver, but consider all opinions otherwise. Consider how you wish to sell your silver. Research all available information on the 'Net.

You then make your own judgements on buys and sells.

Very sound advice.

I might add the suggestion that you not limit your "research" solely to silver production and mining capacity. Larger economic and regional political sentiment around the world can greatly impact silver's price, too.

My understanding is that while new finds can have a short term impact they generally dont have long term impacts for quite a while. It takes a few years minimum for a mine to start producing and until it is its just like the oil in ANWAR, you know its there but until you start getting it it means very little

Even if there is silver found. there is no way one mine will flood the market.

The Cannington silver mine in Queensland, which is currently the World's biggest producer of mined silver, started up in 1997.

The production from that mine had virtually no effect at all on silver price trends at the time.
