= The loose silver bar on the left is an example of a genuine sunshine minting bar=. hey guys, I accidently bought some fake sunshine minting bars from a seller on ebay whose supposedly non profit... I was already suspicious prior to buying because the price he was selling at was very close to spot. When I received them I immediately took out the scale and weighed them, one weighed 0.9ozt while the other weighed 1.1ozt. =.=, however they are not magnetic. Heres the link: this is just a heads up to watch out for fakes on ebay, I'd recommend buying directly from First Majestic Mining Corp for the best price thats close to melt. Monarch is a bit sketchy, other sites such as Provident Metals and APMEX are very legit. Edited by silverdollar2011 08/28/2012 12:53 am

Did you weigh them in grams? They may be close enough to be within tolerance. I would like a little more info before I make a definitive decision on authenticity.

Thanks for the responses, I'm very positive that these aren't genuine. The first bar weighs 30.77g while the second one weighs 31.76g.

Those are within reason, perform a acid test, or cut one in half

It does not smell like any of my other genuine silver bars, these bars smell like rust also it does not sound like silver when dropped, it sounds like zinc.

Looking at the mix of items this seller has it very well could be a non-profit selling donated items. It very well could be they were duped by whoever donated the bars for the deduction. At least if non-profit in the ebay world means what it does in my world.

Sounds like zinc? If that were the case it would be made of something far less dense than silver and would weigh in a lot less than what you are stating, or if the weight was right, it would be wayyyyyyy bigger. If you are that sure they are fake....cut one open already or at least do a file cut to see if it is brass inside.

Definitely fake, but a good fake. The font is a little different, and the corners are too sharp.

Now as a avid ebay seller what you are doing silverdollar2011 is a huge pet peeve. First off, are you 100% certain this item is "fake", no acid test has been done, or even a simple file down or cut test. I can see you requesting for a refund if you did either or, and these items were in fact fake. The seller would have to take them back even if they were cut in half. What if you tested these items properly and they are in fact genuine, you basically slandered a seller on a public forum, and made false claims. It's buyer's who jump the gun who make ebay sellers not want to sell anymore.
