In my opinion, the coin has AU details/cleaned (given his photos). If genuine, you did very well if you did indeed buy it.

Yeah, I did purchase the coin.

I agree with you vermontensium, based on the pictures I think the coin may have been cleaned. Hopefully it is just the pictures. But a coin with these details, I just couldn't pass up.

its hard to tell from his photos
the one thing that concerns me regarding the care for the coin is that he handled it with his bare hands
i'll never understand not owning a $2 box of disposable vinyl gloves rather than getting your filthy, greasy paws all over a 150 year old coin
in any event, my pet peeve aside, the strike details look great, again its hard to tell how severe the cleaning is and judge its authenticity from those photos

Got the coin in the mail today, unfortunately as a few of you suggested. The coin has been cleaned.

What do you think it grades, based on the new pictures. And what would a correct value be on this coin?
