I happen to have old silver dime coins, starting from 1946 non mint form to 1968 non mint dime; which I am not even knowing the meaning between proof, mint, uncirculated to circulated coin meanings ; until I did some digging and researching. I own or think I have a few rare coins. one that got me started here was one of the coin that I ponder is a proof 1968 no mint mark silver dime. Please let me know if its even worth my time to have a new hobby or if I have I stumbled into fortunes. For I have wheat ols old copper pennies starting from the 1916s. Please guide me for I new. Thanks so much!!

The 1968 dime could be from the Philadelphia mint and they didn't have a mint mark that year. If the quality is high, it might have been from a SMS. 1964 was the last year circulated dimes and quarters were silver.

Sorry for bad writing. Like I said I am on a cellphone and my texting is not so great. Forgiv my bad replies. I am still trying to upload pictures as well. I was stating that my husbands grand father had started collecting them, but not so neatly or safely. Though they have never been tampered with. I have two of the 1964 no mint marking dimes as well.

For some reason I am unable to upload my pics. :( tried minimizing etc. so when I am able to get to my computer I will try again. I do aplogize for the inconvience. For I am too curious of my findings. Will continue to do resrearch and knowledge. For I am so exited to have found treasures that were just sitting and now I am able to share with those who truely admire these rare findings. I hope I dont disappoint anyone, especially myself. Till next time. Hope I can figure this uploading picture function .lol

Philadelphia mint coins did not have any mintmarks until 1980. Your coins are completely normal.

Ummm. Actually I am looking close amd comparing the 1965 to the 1968 dimes both not mented. My 1968 dime is different. Its hair looks differrent . Like they doubled die or doubled stamp. I am going to go see a coin speciallist about all my old coins and wheat pennys. Yay
