1883 3CN -- What Grade? Is This Proof ?

rum_n_cola Valued Member United States 175 Posts	Posted 08/28/2012 7:39 pm This is another of the coins that I inherited. I did not even know they made 3 cent nickels. It is a great looking coin. It appears natural with no cleaning, then again I am no expert. What grade would you give this? Also, is this a proof or business strike and how can you tell the difference? With a mintage of only 4000 that year, you've got yourself a pretty rare and beautiful coin either way. Nice little bit of cameo on it also.
