In the local aviation museum on Ford Island in Hawaii (Military Base), they sell a set of steel pennies for 9.99. These pennies appear BU and says it is certified to be genuine. I looked around on ebay and it looked like it would cost a bit more to try to get all three mintages BU on ebay. I am really thinking about getting it. What does everyone else think?

99% of the time they are heavily polished and aren't worth a dime. I've seen dozens of these sets and they are all garbage

Save your money and get them one high grade coin at a time and build your own set

You need to watch out for reprocessed cents. The are low grade coins that have been re-plated and there for considered damaged and worthless. You can buy nice higher grade coins at a decent price. GO has it right, get one coin at a time in high grade and you will be a lot happier in the long run. Here is an example but I don't recommend ICG, they tend to over grade a bit. http://www.cheapslabs.com/shop/inde...tail&p=51170

Certified by WHO? As you already have seen from other replys, just one of the many gimmicks used to suck people in to this coin collecting craze. They made so many of those and so many were put aside that REAL ones are not that difficult to find. Of course if your in Hawaii, places that sell coins may not be as common as in the rest of the USA. By me we have 4 coin shows a Month and those are almost as common as any Wheat Back Cent.
