Thanks to ElmerFusterpuck for sharing his 1814 CBH with some great clashed dies plus a bonus fly. https://goccf.com/t/128153&whichpage=1

This caused me to revisit my 1814 which is my most clashed coin. Also, the die cracks aren't bad either.

I'll bite. Since we're talking 1814's, here's the one I had:

I think that's the craziest clashing I've ever seen on a coin. Another:

I'm amazed the dies survived this hit.

Great idea for a topic jeffrose. I really like those 1814 Bust half examples. Great Barber dime also. You hit the nail on the head SsuperDdave, that is part of the allure for me to seek out clashed Morgans is beyond the detail it's knowing what happens to metal vs metal under extreme force. My new personal favorite is the 1883-O VAM1C die pairs. The reverse die sustained substantial damage while the obverse dies show little or no damage. This seems to be a debate topic but I feel the reverse die was not hardened to the appropriate Rockwell number. Anyhow here is my latest example.

Here's a slightly earlier die state without the die chip at the eagles' right wing.
Have I mentioned yet (again) how much I like die clashes?

This is a terrible image, but will have to do until I get a better resolution...at least ANACS thought so!

Here's a pretty common clash seen in the neck area on 1908 quarter eagles. Here's mine.

Show-Us-Your-Clashed-Dies

An overlay of the wing of the eagle from the reverse onto the obverse, and a closeup of the neck of my Indian. The feathers are even visible in the clash.

Nice die clashes everyone

Here's one of my favorite coins an 1813 Bust Half with a die clash under the bust and extending past star 1. I also like the way the stars are reaching out to the dentils. The reverse is a much stronger strike than the obverse.

Very cool 1813 Bust. Is there signs of clashing on the reverse that aren't apparent the the photo or is this maybe a fresh reverse die?

I don't see any clashing on the reverse... and the reverse die is sharper ... so you're probably correct

I'm thinking that the first reverse die didn't survive the clash. That's not uncommon.

I believe this is a clashed die above the headdress on the obverse:

Absolutely stunning clash marks in the obverse of that Barber dime.

Here is an 1875-S half dollar with light clash marks visible on the obverse in between her arm and the pole and also extending into the field from her left arm as indicated by the red arrow. There is also a line extending upward into the field from her right hand.

On the reverse there are two lines of her arm visible extending from the eagle's leg down to the right as indicated by the red arrow.

The picture quality suffered a lot so the clash marks could be seen. The coin is very lustrous which made taking these pictures difficult.

Here's one I posted the other day in its own thread:

2012-P Sacagawea dollar (die clash) by CaptainFwiffo, on Flickr

Here's one I found a while back and just took better pictures of. It's a nice MAD clash, but its also unusual because both dies show damage from some hard foreign object that was in the striking chambers apparently during one of the clash events.
