Hello,
I have 2 1830 capped busts, and were wondering if they were large letters, large 0, or small 0. Any help?

Here are the pics:

I will let the bust half experts give you any determination of type but I wanted to say the second half is exceptional.

Not an expert and it is tough with the pics. But... The second one looks like an O-108. The recut 8 in the date on the obverse is the pup. Is there a fine die crack at top of UNITED on the reverse? It would be Small O.

I would go conservatively AU 53, possibly cleaned as she is pretty bright.

I was refering to the fact the 8 is higher than the 3. Often dies were repaired and sometimes devices need to be recut....
