Hi guys

Strange that a 1970 and 1971 nickel dollars would go in opposite directions...?

1 - The 1971 Die Deterioration goes to the left.
2 - The 1970 Die Deterioration goes to the right.

That looks like Machine Doubling damage, and not Die Deterioration.

That is NOT Die Deterioration Doubling on the 1971 .... agree with SPP that it is M.D.D....

Can't be sure on the 1970, but it is not Die Deterioration Doubling.
Rest in Peace

I have a question that relates to MDD. Has anyone ever seen MDD tripling before? I have a few Unc. 1964 pennies that are tripled at the top. They came from a nice new roll. Is this fairly common?

Sorry I will not be able to get a picture. It looks similar to doubling except when the coin is tilted, one can see the third line. Maybe I'm going to say there is a dragging effect. Maybe a loose collar.
