I received this from the Royal Australian Mint.

Quote:
Dear Collector,

The September Mint Issue is now online! It contains some exciting new releases, especially if you love sports and getting outdoors. Whether you are into motor sports, surfing, or even astronomy, we have something for you!

We also have a great new program for everyone who loves coins and the Royal Australian Mint, the Mint Legends program. We don't mind if you collect circulating 50c coins or Gold Proof Sets, if you like coins, we want to engage with you! The program is free to join, but as you buy your coins over the year, we will keep a tally of your spend and share some rewards.

Here is the program in a nutshell...

1. Your total spending will accumulate over the minting year, which is from 1 September, through to 31 August. You will not have to purchase the total amount in one go in order to be eligible for the rewards below.

2. The same low mintage coins will be offered twice, so that if you don't qualify in time for the first round, you may qualify for the second round (this will also give you a chance to purchase another if you are eligible and liked the first one!)
3. Each month that you make a purchase, you will go into the draw to win a $100 voucher to spend through the Mint.

4. The "special event" coins, are the coins that you would normally have to visit the Mint, or a Show, to receive.

5. You will are only eligible for each voucher once in each minting year.

Spend over...
$150
Get access to exclusive made-to-order low mintage coins

$500

First chance at special event coins/tokens at event prices

$1000

$5000

We are always interested in your questions and feedback, so please let us know if you have any!

If you'd like to be a Mint Legends member, send us an email to legends@ramint.gov.au expressing your interest and I'll sign you up!

Yours in Collecting

I didn't get that email.
I haven't even signed up for the new program yet, I only want to continue being in the mail order catalogue list.

I'm unsure about the whole thing, its always spend, spend and spend more.
They never replied about last years bonus coin, you never get to buy the good stuff because you can never get up to spending $2,000 or in the case of 2013 $5,000 CRAZY

The wording sounds like, the coins that are left over from events like ANDA will be offered to the public to try and palm off the leftovers, instead of sending them to dealers at a loss.

Anyway I might send off a new email and ask about last years coins, still would like to know what the "Collection by Selection" 1000 mintage $100 coin and 500 mintage $200 coin was.

I don't like it
It's like those 'loyalty' things from the supermarkets: lock you in, get all your personal info, and know most won't ever accumulate enough 'rewards' to get the goodies.
The Mint is there to MINT money - not making it by the bucketload from us collectors......

i signed up for that as well but no email as yet, and with the premium over spot you would think they could be a little more generous.
