She was bored at a show with me, as usual, and saw a kangaroo on a coin. Then she found a bunch in a 5 for a dollar box. Now she is collecting as dates and varieties back to the beginning in 1917 (I think). She has also found a 12 Days of Christmas series she likes. She has 4 of them. Better late than never. First of all it's just the odd penny, then she'll try collecting threepence's, and then progress to sixpences. And before you know it, she's nicking money from your wallet to score shillings and ultimately the expensive florins. And when you think things can't get any worse, she progresses to collecting pre decimal Aussie notes. It's a slippery slope and before you know it, she'll have you hooked and collecting them all as well. Report this Post to the Staff

The kangaroos were introduced at the start of KG6's reign, and continued through QE2. That's how I got started: but that was long ago, when I was a boy, and they were still circulating.
