I'm a graduate student in the Forest Ecosystems and Society department at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. I do a lot of volunteer and non-profit work. My undergrad was in Economics from Grinnell College in Iowa.

Forced into retirement to look after my wife, she died of pancreatic cancer recently. Used to be in civil, environmental and hydraulic engineering design, mainly for military establishments for 35 years. Did 10 years before that on water supply sewerage and stormwater design, including a two year stint in England. Worked for my dad as an industrisl process worker for 8 years before that.
Fresh out of the workforce after 53 continuous years, starting from age 12.
Now I face the rest of my life without a wife. We had NO retirement together.
