I recently inherited a small coin collection from my grandfather, nothing really all that great, but a couple binders have caught my eye. Specifically one titled Canada Cents, Small, 1920-Date inside is an almost complete set. Most of these are circulated coins. The binder is only missing a few coins, namely:
1922
1923
1924
1925
1926
1954 NSS (P.L. only)
I have questions about the varieties on some of these though.

one 1954 slot is labelled NSS(P.L. only) the NSS is no shoulder strap and the P.L. is proof like if I'm not mistaken. Why would this binder have something prelabelled for proof-like from that far back?

Also could someone walk me through how to distinguish from SS and NSS

Lastly can someone give me some clarification on how to distinguish between the 2006 variants? From what I've read there's Magnetic P, Non-magnetic P, and Magnetic no P? Sorry for all the questions.

Also received the same binder but for Nickels from 1922-Date
Missing only:
1925,
1926 (near 6),
1926 (far 6),
1933
1953 NSS

are the NSS/SS varieties distinguishable the same way as the pennies? Any help greatly appreciated, I look forward in hopefully getting to know this board as I expand the collection given to me.

There is several 2006 penny variants:

The three most common are
1) Magnetic with the RCM logo under the queen
2) Non-magnetic with the RCM logo under the queen
3) Non-magnetic with no-logo under the queen

Rares ones are:
4) Magnetic, "P" under the queen, about 233,000 minted
5) Magnetic, No logo under the queen, probably 10 times rarer than (4)
6) Non-magnetic, "P" under the queen. I don't think any were ever found in circulation.

The most fun part about coin roll searching was digging out all of the 2006 pennies and then running a magnet above them and then searching for a no p no logo magnetic one. No Luck so far. Thanks again for the info guys!
