I just learned something new today! I went back to that coinstar, but it was full. Turns out when coinstars are full, there are coins in the feeding slot that don't make it through! To get them I had to use the slim part of a pair of nailclippers. I managed to pull over 25 cents in clad out of it, and 5 or so copper cents. I was at another coinstar and there were 2 dimes stuck for the same reason, so I asked my wife to get our the nailclippers that I used last time. She got impatient and gave my a key. It was too think and I pushed them in. Sad thing was, I swear one looked silver... She felt bad seeing how sad I was. But still, it sucks that women get a free pass on being impatient 25% of the time... If you know what I mean

While ordering some penny boxes I took a look in the reject tray of the banks machine. 9 clad US dimes and a .5 pence coin.

Almost a buck as well as a foreign! Nice! I wonder why dimes end up in reject? I checked the weight of the one I got, they were fine. Odd, no?

My friends who were there with me when I got the silver went back to the store today to take back the redbox DVD. They checked the coinstar and brought back a 1989 United Kingdom (Queen Elizabeth II) 1 penny! It's and interesting coin. Larger than most pennies, larger diameter and thinker. It's also medal orientation. I love world coin finds! They also gave me a Wheat penny, that may or may not have been from the coinstar. Either way, a nice looking 45 wheat, and it was free! Nice friends of ours. They're Canadian. Canadians are so nice :)

My CoinStar store is on the way home from work. I have used it plenty, but have yet to find anything in it.

I wish we had machines like that around here, I would make up a collection route and follow it everyday.

No finds lately! Hopefully when the holidays star and people need to buy presentst, people will put more coins in the CSs, and in the banks!

found and 82 penny in a CS last night. No apparent reason for the rejection. Sometime I really wonder how coinstars work
