Yeah, jbuck... I've been finding a lot more money in them lately, but fewer keepers... I'll take the quantity of course, but I still prefer the quality (silver, steels, etc.)... I'll just keep taking shots, and score another goal eventually!

Went to an antique/coin show. Bought some tickets to get in and looked at the clerk's dollar coins... bought 2 Susan B. Anthony dollars from her (for a $1 a piece). I looked at them and one was a proof!

Found a few euros and Canadian coins in a coinstar tray last night, but nothing too good which was disappointing when checking 6 different locations.

I still come up dry every time I look. I wonder if someone else in your neighborhood who is actively looking too. As for me, I'm pretty sure there is at least one other person looking in my machines. The sure sign for me that they've been there is that I will see foreign coins left on top of the machines after they've taken them (and other coins) out of the reject bin...

That's happened to me on numerous occasions too, but I've always assumed that it was resultant from the actions of the actual Coinstar user. The way I see it, the chain of events would proceed as follows: they check the reject bin after they're done using the machine, scoop up the coins that have piled up, see that they're foreign/ otherwise useless, and then leave them on top of the machine (since why would anyone bend down to put them back in the slot?). I've also seen truly disgusting zinc pennies placed in a similar location.

From what I've observed from Coinstar users in my area is the people putting the coins in will usually keep all of their rejects including the foreign coins. I've never observed a user actually take the foreign coins out and leave them... in one case, a girl took her foreign rejects, and then I proceeded to grab the Euro coins that (I presume) someone who was there earlier had taken out of the reject bin and placed on top of the machine after taking the American coins.

It seems like the same one is always on the lane directly across from the Coinstar.

I am pretty sure I can go without any Coinstar finds if it means that I never have to work retail again.
