Please let me know if anyone else has noticed the weak or shallow image of Washington on the National Park quarters. I have found it on many of the issues. Compare the image of our first President on one of the ATB coins to a state or earlier issue. You can see the difference.

Anyone else notice this? Why is this?
Rest in Peace

I have also seen this. The first two years where the worst and now it seems the 2012s are better. I use to buy the Unc. P&D rolls from the mint but not anymore.
I really do not think they will increase in value.IMHO I have and will get the silver ones from the yearly silver mint sets. Even the three coin sets are pricey for clad coins.

Yeah, I was pointing this out to my dealer recently -- it looks like a super-weak strike on the obverse. But that evidently the ATB obverse.

Yes, the mint really needs to improve old George's image!

The portrait changed with the ATB series; they quit using the "spaghetti hair" which peaked with the Statehood Quarter series. The idea was to restore the original design (with less stringy hair), but what happened is that it looks bad because of the lower relief used today.
