Question On Morgan 1893 CC - Coin Community Forum

John D New Member United States 18 Posts	Posted 09/09/2012 11:40 pm Hi, I took a chance on an ebay listing for an 1893 CC Morgan. Based on the pix (the seller did post good clear pictures), I would guesstimate the condition as AG3 to G4. I got it for $98.00. So I have 2 questions; 1) Did I get a good deal? 2) What are the chances it's not legit? I would think anyone who would try to sell a counterfeit key date would probably have one in better condition, but is there any way (or reason) someone would alter another MM and/or year to create this "key date" coin? nscoinkid1997 Valued Member Canada 138 Posts	Posted 09/10/2012 06:26 am If the coin is legitimate, it would be worth about $130-$145. However, there is always the possiblity that it is a fake. That would make it worth the equivilant of junk silver. But hopefully it isn't and you just got an excellent deal. Report this Post to the Staff

However, given the condition of the reverse, it's likely this one would grade FR2. That being the case, I'd call the deal "fair for you and the seller." Report this Post to the Staff
