I'm trying to make sense of Fancy notes and what I'm seeing on ebay every day...

Is this a RADAR note: 04181814

Is this a REPEATER note: 04181818

Just curious.

Thanks,
~JobIII

I'd say no to both because if I understand it correctly, the ENTIRE serial number has to follow the pattern, and both examples have a number or two in front that ruin the pattern.

So close, but not quite.

I would say yes to the radar and no to the repeater.

See I can understand why the repeater is not a keeper. I am tempted to hold the 0-RADAR, but I'm not really sure what kind of premium it'll get.

I'd say no to both. I think the seller is trying to stretch the definition to get the extra money out of them.

Some would call that first one a mini radar. I would call it a spender. Terms like that are used to try to take a close but no cigar note and turn it into a fancy serial number. ebay is the worst for wasting my time when I am trying to find certain types of notes. The people that post notes throw out words like candy thinking they will entice someone to buy their junk serials. All it does is irritate me because I have to sort through a truckload of junk to try to find the number I am really looking for.

For example do a search for "low serial number" and any note with at least ONE zero will come up. You will never be able to actually find a low serial on ebay unless you just accidently stumble across it.

Yes, it is the greed of the sellers changing the definitions to be so generic that they are worthless to use them for searching now.

The RADAR note is a radar but not a "true" radar. The other note is a spender,IMHO.
