That is not a real TPG. They are known as "basement slabbers" and always over grade their coins.

Based on what little I can see in the picture I wouldn't go higher than G4 and I wouldn't pay more than $20 total (assuming I was buying it to keep and not for resale). For G6 I would expect more of the crown to be visible between the forehead and the braids. I have one of this guys coins where he's not as badly off as in this case but I've seen a few more which have been a grade level or two too high.

It would only be scrap silver worth the price of the day's spot silver and no more. That particular days can be acquired for peanut's in high grade. Invest a few bucks and look around for an AU-50! Glenn

This is worth a lot more than scrap silver, even in G-4 (according to trends).

I thought ebay only permitted you to mentioned a coin's grade in a listing, if it was from an approved list of recognized coin graders (e.g. I NGC, PCGS, CCCS, ICCS, etc). Did they relax this requirement ?

pimpim, you are doing the right thing, by trusting your eyes and judging the coin, not the holder... (That coin grades AG-3, in my opinion).

The lettering on both obverse and reverse is compromised in parts, and the rims are in places worn down to the same level as the fields. It's important that we all learn to grade to some degree so we can evaluate a coin's value when buying/selling uncertified coins. Good catch on this over-graded coin.

@1945V - that restriction only applies in the US on ebay.com. The seller is probably listing on ebay dot ca. <Man that's annoying. I keep typing .ca and it keeps getting auto-corrected to .com!>
