The MM looks like MD because I can also see it on the top of the numbers. The reverse looks like a minor LAM.I wonder what that "dent" is under the N in ONE? John1

Very interesting. I also have a 1941-S with a similar indent on the reverse. The only fact I know is that it was done at the time of strike. Features on the coin do not show evidence of tampering. My guess is die damage. The die could have warped slightly when it was heated. I think we should get more opinions.

Hey Monika. Thanks for the additional pictures. I'm still betting on a problem die. Perhaps warping when heated before being placed into use. Interesting to see if any more turn up.

Damaged planchet maybe ?
Monika yours looks like the dent involves the "N" in "ONE" also. So possibly a strike through?
sab3927 yours looks a bit to the left of Monika's and I dont see any involvement with the letters. So I think a damaged planchet.

Hi papatony. Yes, my indent is more to the left but it still involves the N. Rethinking, couldn't be a damaged die because the indent would be in the same place on both coins. Defective planchets more probable. Monika's and mine could be from the same batch. Just another reason to enjoy identifying errors.

Lol..John....Thanks for the site...now I know it's a small MM.Just diden't know if this was a small or large..I really do not see to many "S" mm around this area.99% of the coins I search are either from Philly or Denver. Thanks a lot :)
